If your myspace is private there is no way for anyone but your friends to see it.

If you want a layout on your private screen, all you have to do is edit your profile using the Myspace Profile Editor. Anything you save in that editor, whether it be backgrounds, font schemes, or color designs .. will automatically become both your regular profile AND private profile layout, because this editor changes your profile's base code rather than just using ordinary css.
In other words, when you see other people with that layout on their private screen, what you're seeing is a reflection of their actual layout! Cool, huh? Try it out yourself if you have IE.
