So I want to apply this background to my myspace page but the creator of the page put in a SUPER lame extended background image and I want to remove it ... how can I do that?

look for a code that has the word BLACKTEXT12 in it.... and a bunch of other code, and a big long URL in it
remove that chunk of code

You can add your own background images and totally customize your MySpace page by using the MySpace Profile Editor:
