get a free account so you can upload pics and keep them online.
then find a pic you like.edit it ,resize it %26gt; most myspace backgrounds are 1024x768 or 800x600
upload it to photobucket
then go here

put in your info/preferences
then
use/copy the direct links from photobucket pics , so your pics will show up on your profile
after you are done .with background,contact box and network banner. ( i dont use the online now icon,it dont work)
click the generate html code and copy/paste it into your about me section of your profile and save.
the contact me box is 300x150
and the network banner is 435x75
